Laser pricing spreadsheet (Excel): five options compared honestly
Short answer: if you want something free, start with MakerCutt's free quote spreadsheet. If you price by area, Craft Calculators is the cheapest at $9. For a catalogue of up to 60 products with a sales log, Tidy Margin ($12.99) does more for less. For business and logo orders with a customer-facing quote, True Trade Cost ($49.95) is the most complete. Atelier Pilot (€27) is for one-off laser and CNC jobs priced from your own costs, with a batch table, a Planned-vs-Actual sheet and 10 built-in checks.
A laser pricing spreadsheet turns your costs (material and scrap, machine time, labour, setup, fees) into a selling price. Several good ones exist, and one is free. Every price and feature below comes from each product's own page, read on 19 October 2026. When a feature is not on a product's page, we say "not described on the page" rather than claiming it is missing.

Which one fits your shop
MakerCutt Factory (free)
A no-nonsense starter sheet with open formulas, for laser, plasma and CNC router cutting. You measure cut length and count pierces yourself; the company's paid software reads them from the DXF. Choose it if you cut profiles and want to pay nothing.
Craft Calculators ($9)
The cheapest paid option, built around pricing by area (per square inch or per square centimetre), with a minimum charge and a status line that warns before you lose money. Choose it if most of your work is priced by size.
Tidy Margin ($12.99)
The broadest for makers who sell a catalogue: up to 60 products, laser and material presets (xTool, Glowforge, OMTech, fiber), a sales log, a dashboard and inventory. It also has quantity breaks and a Quote vs Actual record. For an Etsy-style shop it does more than Atelier Pilot for less money.
True Trade Cost ($49.95)
The most complete for logo and business orders: a break-even rate per laser, a dated price list, quotes at four quantities, a checklist that must be answered, a customer quote with proof approval and a job log. Choose it if you send formal quotes to business buyers.
Atelier Pilot (€27)
For one-off and custom laser or CNC jobs priced from your own costs. On top of the basic sum it gives you:
- Batch pricing: the same job priced at 1, 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 parts, so you see how setup spreads over the quantity.
- Planned vs actual: record each finished job against its quote, with the real margin worked out from your own fees.
- 10 checks: quantity, negative costs, scrap rate, fees plus margin, tax rate, the five reference examples and more. If an input is impossible, the workbook shows no price and displays "CHECK INPUTS".
What it does not do: no customer-facing quote, no product catalogue, no inventory, no sales log. It is built for Microsoft Excel; Google Sheets is not guaranteed. Other spreadsheets above also offer quantity pricing and a quote-versus-actual record, so these are differences of approach, not exclusive features.
