When Tidy Margin is the better choice
- You sell a catalogue of standard laser products (coasters, signs, keyrings) and want them all priced in one file.
- You want profit per laser-hour to see which products deserve machine time.
- You want sales and inventory tracking in the same workbook, at a low price.
When Atelier Pilot is the better choice
- Most of your work is custom quotes from customer files, not a fixed catalogue.
- You also quote CNC jobs.
- You want a workbook that refuses to show a price when an input is impossible.
- You need a sales tax / VAT rate in the same calculation (not described on Tidy Margin's page).
Our honest take
For an Etsy-style catalogue, Tidy Margin is cheaper and broader. Atelier Pilot is for shops that mainly price one-off and custom jobs and want a short, checked calculation for each.
